Ben Bailey
IP and Corporate Attorney
Ben’s areas of expertise span several facets of corporate and intellectual property law. Ben frequently acts as an outsourced general counsel for some of Apex’s clients, operating as a member of their team, focused on the success of the business and providing legal oversight. His corporate law experience also includes corporate formation and business planning, merger and acquisition transactions, early-stage financings, and negotiating technology, licensing, and partnership agreements with third parties.
In addition to his corporate law experience, Ben has an extensive background in patent and trademark law. Ben’s has prepared and prosecuted patent applications, counseled clients regarding issues related to portfolio management and strategic growth, negotiated complex licensing agreements, and litigated clients’ patent rights. Ben also has a great deal of experience in trademark law, policing clients’ marks across the globe and enforcing trademark rights in court when necessary. Based on his broad exposure to all aspects of intellectual property counseling, clients can rely on Ben to provide them with strategic guidance they can trust at virtually every stage of their intellectual property development, particularly with respect to the mechanical, electrical, and computer science arts.
Prior to co-founding Apex, Ben spent eight years at Finnegan, one of the world’s preeminent law firms focused on intellectual property. While there, Ben prepared or prosecuted hundreds of patent applications, analyzed large-scale patent portfolios for some of the world’s most advanced technology companies, and helped clients maximize their return on investment by devising multi-faceted monetization strategies.
